Description

Wern Outfall Weir at Wern Mill is an oval structure made of red and blue bricks that revets a pond receiving water from the canal through a culvert. It features a weir and spillway with a central flume that is controlled by a ratchet paddle, directing water to the turbine race that culminates in a 3.6-meter deep vertical fall shaft of the former corn mill. Adjacent to this is a subsidiary spillway and a 450-meter long parabolic blue bypass channel.
