Description
The Tramway Office at Broomfield is a rectangular building measuring approximately 3 meters by 2.5 meters, constructed from local sandstone rubble. Originally, it was a two-storey structure with a monopitch roof, although both the roof and the first floor are now missing. There is a door at the rear that led to the upper floor, and the ground floor features a window with one splayed reveal facing the tramway line. Inside, there is a small fireplace. The front of the building is likely boarded and includes a door that opens towards the tramway to facilitate access for rail traffic.
Located 20 meters to the east of the house, there are several open storage bunkers for materials such as lime and coal, built in the early 19th century in connection with the tramway. These bunkers are linked by a wall with an arched opening to a pair of storehouses, which now serve as garden structures.
