Description

Ashgrove House is a building constructed from coursed rubble sandstone, featuring a 20th-century concrete tiled roof. It stands three storeys tall, although the front elevation appears as two storeys, and consists of three bays. The layout includes a through-hall plan with reception rooms on either side and gable stacks. A central part-glazed door is topped by a bracketed canopy. The original margin glazed sash windows are present on both the ground and first floors, each with two additional vertically set margin lights. The ground floor has monolithic lintels, while the upper floor features slightly cambered openings. The eaves are boxed, and the stacks are pebbledashed. Additionally, a 20th-century extension has been added to the basement level on the southwest gable.
