Description
Treble Hill Baptist Chapel is a simple classical red-brick chapel built with a slate roof and freestone details on the front pediment. The front is divided into three bays by freestone pilasters, each featuring round-headed small-pane windows that are interestingly framed in iron; the central window is taller and has a keyblocked architrave. Additional details include an inscribed bull's-eye in the pediment, flanked by sunken panels and a dog-tooth cornice. Unlike typical gable-end chapels, the main entrance is not centered but features two doorways, one in each outer bay, with freestone architraves that include keystones and boarded doors. The side elevations have four bays with brick pilasters and similar iron glazing, stepping down to the vestry at the rear.
Inside, the chapel has a rectangular scribe-rendered interior without a gallery, illuminated by the tall side windows. It features painted cornice bands, a reeded cornice, and a central ceiling rose. There is a moulded arch over the pulpit and pitch pine furnishings.
