Description

Aberllynfi House is a building constructed of rendered rubble sandstone with a slate roof. The main front features a central 8-panelled door set within a Doric doorcase. The ground floor has four-paned sash windows, while the first floor is adorned with 12-pane sashes and three hipped dormers. There are stone gable-end stacks. The service wing includes four-paned sashes and a 20th-century flat-roofed extension at the front.

On the garden side, there are paired four-pane sashes in the kitchen and a timber mullioned and transomed Venetian window in the stairwell, which has crown glass and a leaded oculus at a high level. The principal first-floor rooms also feature 12-pane sashes and two hipped dormers. A cellar is located beneath the northwest end parlour, and gable stacks are present.

Inside, there is a fine early 19th-century staircase that rises through three floors, characterized by closely set turned balusters. The kitchen fireplace has a cambered arch made of stone voussoirs. Some ceilings have been lowered and doors altered to comply with fire regulations.
