Description

Bridge 122 over the Montgomeryshire Canal is a structure built between 1794 and 1797 as part of the canal's original engineering by John and Thomas Dadford. The bridge is constructed of brick with stone copings on the parapet, which has been partially rebuilt on the southeast side. It features a single arched span with slightly curving abutments that end in simple piers. The arch is made of voussoirs and has an advanced brick 'keystone', along with a plain string course that marks the base of the parapet. This bridge is included as part of the original engineering of the Montgomeryshire Canal and maintains its original character despite later repair work.
