Description

Corner House is a small timber-framed cottage, likely built in the late 17th century or early 18th century, with some later repair work but little major alteration. The exterior features painted brick panel infill and some wattle and daub, with a box frame consisting of small square panels; some timber has been replaced with brick painted to imitate the framing. The slate roof has brick gable end stacks. The cottage has a small 2-unit plan, with a simple plank doorway towards the center and a small-paned iron casement window on either side. The rear elevation includes an added brick outshut and two gabled dormers within the roof, each featuring a small-paned iron casement window. Corner House is a very good surviving example of a small timber-framed cottage that retains much of its early character.
