Description

14 Market Street is a three-storey, three-window asymmetrical pair of houses dating from the 18th century. The front is plastered with a scribed finish, topped by a slate roof and featuring red brick chimneys. The house on the left has two window bays, while the house on the right has one. The second-floor windows are hornless sashes with twelve panes (4 over 8), and moulded architraves. The first-floor windows are hornless sashes with sixteen panes, set in lugged architraves and decorated with three raised plaster medallions. The ground-floor windows are similar to those on the first floor. A pair of doorcases are positioned off-centre to the right, each adorned with bracketed cornices.
