Description
Glanhafan-fawr farmhouse is a two-storey building featuring four windows. The front has a symmetrical three-window section on the right with end chimneys, and an additional contemporary bay on the left, also with an end chimney. The front stonework and the left gable wall are made of well-dressed quasi-coursed slate, while the other sides and the rear are constructed from a more rubbly stone. The front range has a slate roof with a tile ridge and greyish yellow brick chimneys, while the rear roof slope is Turnerised. The windows are square casements, each with two lights and small panes, featuring cambered brick head arches and slate sills. There is a panelled door within a brick porch that has a slate roof. At the rear, there is a small stone lean-to to the west, in addition to the main rear wing, and a small red-brick lean-to on the west side. There is also a small extension where the front range connects to the rear wing on the east side, which has two small windows.
The rear wing, which extends north, is the oldest part of the house and is rebuilt in rubbly slate masonry. There is a scar on the roof indicating a possible missing chimney, while another chimney remains at the north gable. The east side wall features two ground storey windows with cambered stone heads and three upper windows near the eaves. The pair of windows on the right retains both mullions and transoms. There is a small upper window on the west side and a covered entrance to the house.
The side wing, which is secondary to the earliest part, is located on the west side and has a rendered west gable with a small 19th-century brick end chimney stack. There is a modern ground storey window to the north and a mullion and transom window above it near the eaves. The roof has a moderate overhang.
The interior was not seen during the resurvey, but it is reported to retain a winding staircase next to the end chimney of the north wing.
