Description

Ceri Gate is a two-storey house with a timber-framed structure featuring whitewashed plaster panels and a modern plain-tile roof. It has a small modern brick stack on the left end and a large painted rendered external chimney breast with another small modern brick stack on the right end. The front timbering varies, with the left bay being less heavily timbered than the larger right bay, which may indicate that it is a later addition. The left bay consists of three panels and has a pair of casement windows on each floor. The right bay is four panels wide, has diagonal lower braces, and features two pairs of casement windows above and two small-paned long casements below. There is a modern lean-to porch around the chimney breast on the right end gable, which shows timber-framing that suggests the upper floor is a later addition. The rear of the house is windowless and has square, mainly timber, and partly mock timber-framed panels, four panels wide and three deep above a deep plinth. To the left, there is a slightly higher three-bay extension built in 1957.

Inside, the ground floor room has a stopped and chamfered centre beam, with the joists hidden from view. There is a staircase next to the fireplace, which features a large chimney and a bread oven, although the fireplace itself is modern.
