Description
The building at Dolobran is a farm structure dating from the 18th century. It features timber framing or brickwork above a ground storey made of stone, and it runs in an east/west direction. The ground storey is constructed from rubble that is integrated with the farmyard wall, which connects to the southwest corner of the house. The building has a slate roof and includes a ruined lean-to stone building at the west gable, as well as a latrine at the southeast corner.
On the east elevation, which faces the farmhouse, there is a timber-framed gable supported by tie and collar beams and V-struts. The loft storey is covered with weatherboarding, and there is a boarded door on the left, accessed by a flight of stone steps. To the left of the door is a stone latrine with a tiny window and a lean-to slate roof, along with a small arched window. The ground storey to the right of the latrine is open.
The south elevation, which faces the garden, features an upper storey of brickwork that includes five rows of pigeon-holes with projecting brick alighting ledges, while the lower part is made of rubble stonework. A small modern brick opening has been added on the left.
The north elevation, facing the farmyard, has a timber-framed upper storey that is brick nogged, with four side-hung hatch shutters. The lower section is also made of rubble stonework.
The roof is composed of two bays with a strutted tie beam and V-struts above, and the loft floor consists of four bays. The latrine is designed as a two-seat earth closet.
