Description
Ffoesidoes is a two-storey house built in a T-plan layout, dating from the 18th century, with a lower service block to the south-east. The exterior features coursed rubble on a plinth, with blue brick dressings. The openings have yellow and blue header segmental arches, and there are tall, thin, panelled stacks made of similar chequered, glazed brickwork. The windows are two and three-light casements, and the front door is a framed plank design with chamfered battens and decorative metal clasps for the wooden lock.
The attached outbuildings are constructed of coursed rubble with blue and red brick dressings, featuring ventilation slits and slate roofs, along with boarded doors and loft shutters. To the west of the house, there is a single-storey pony stable and a four-bay open-fronted shed. To the east, an L-plan range of formerly open-fronted cowsheds includes a rear feeding passage. Two pigsties extend from the south-east corner. On the north side of the yard, a two-storey cowhouse has 12 standings and a loose box, with a wide feeding and entry passage that has a flagged floor, and a partially plastered loft above. Adjoining this is a barn and stable range, which includes a three-bay barn with brick partition bases and bolted king-post trusses, as well as two-storey stables for six working horses and an end storeroom. The ground slopes down to the north, allowing the stables and cowhouse to have small openings just above ground level for dung disposal.
Inside, there are four-panel doors, a staircase with a chamfered newel and stick balusters against the rear wall, a beaded plank underside, and massive stone flags covering the floor throughout.
