Description
Blaenbythigion is a two-storey, two-window house built from shaley rubble stone with a red-brown wash, topped with an old slate roof featuring a stone stack on the left and a brick stack on the right. The entrance lobby is on the left, containing an old boarded door and the remnants of a shallow timber porch, likely once featuring an arched entrance. To the right, there are iron-framed windows, some of which are missing glazing; the lower storey has three-light windows with large panes, while the upper storey has smaller two-light windows positioned just below the eaves.
Adjoining the left side is a lofted three-door farm range, which is weather-boarded over timber framing. The doorways are asymmetrically arranged and feature split doors. Originally, there were four loft hatches, but the second from the right has been infilled with weather-boarding. The stone gable end is complemented by a later block of corrugated iron. To the right, there is an added outbuilding made of rubble stone with a red-brown wash, featuring a wide cart bay on the left with double boarded doors beneath a long timber lintel, and a slightly offset two-light wooden casement window above. The interior has not been seen during the resurvey.
