Description

The ice house in the garden at Powis Castle is believed to have been built in the early 19th century and was restored in the 1980s. It is constructed of brick and features a domed shape above ground, with a round-arched short passage entry leading to a deep ovoid chamber. This ice house is an exceptionally well-preserved example and serves as a significant relic of the domestic economy of the castle.
