Description
The lychgate to the Church of St David is made of oak and features a gabled roof with stone tiles. It is supported by low rock-faced rubble side walls that have chamfered coping and a plinth. The lychgate is adorned with ornate pierced cusped bargeboards, with the gables supported by arch-braces from the main posts. These posts also have concave-curved braces that extend downward to the ends of the low supporting walls. The walls include a small spur on the inside that carries an inner post. The roof is constructed with scissor rafters, and the sides consist of four panels, with the two upper panels being open and the lower ones infilled. The timber gates have been renewed and feature iron inserts in the open upper panels.
