Description
Heath Bank is a two-storey building located on Salop Road in Welshpool, alongside The Grapes Public House and Sussex House. The structure is constructed of brick, which is painted on Nos 2 and 3, with rubble in the gable ends. The original slate roofs have been replaced with concrete tiles, and the building features strongly projecting eaves and diagonally set axial stacks.
The Grapes Public House is double-fronted with a central entrance, featuring a six-panelled door with an overlight set in a moulded architrave, flanked by 16-pane sash windows with splayed brick heads. The upper windows have been renewed in their original openings. Sussex House and Heath Bank are single-fronted, with entrances on either side of a central passage entry that creates a symmetrical appearance. They have similar doorcases, although the doorways have been renewed. The buildings also feature 12-pane sash windows, with Sussex House having renewed UPVC glazing, all with splayed heads.
