Description

7 Fairy Road is a 19th-century building constructed of red brick with terracotta and stone dressings, featuring some roughcast rendered panels and a green slate roof. It has two storeys and an attic, displaying a balanced asymmetry. The entrance front faces east and is designed as part of a single composition with No 5 Fairy Road.

The eastern elevation features a canted full-height bay with a bell-cast roof at its center, accompanied by a hipped canopy porch supported on brackets to one side. To the right of the porch is a sash window with stained glass in the small upper panes. Above the doorway, there is a terracotta panel inscribed with 'Oak Lawn built by W. E. S. 1881'. The first floor has three 2-pane sash windows, with a hipped gabled dormer on brackets above the central window.

To the right of the entrance, a crow-stepped gable is articulated by Corinthian pilasters and terracotta bands forming panels. This gable features paired sash windows with small upper panes in moulded brick architraves on each floor. There is banded stonework decoration, including window lintels and relieving arches above a moulded string to the lower windows.

To the left of the entrance, a half-canted bay is present, with moulded terracotta ribs dividing the windows beneath a crow-stepped gable. The ground floor windows are sashes with small upper panes, although the first-floor windows have been replaced with uPVC. A stack with a decorative terracotta cap is located at the angle of this bay and the entrance.

The gabled range parallel to No 5 has rough-cast render on the first floor and a stack that is corbelled out. At the rear, there is a tower with a pyramidal roof, which is wrapped around by a later external staircase. Beyond this, there are paired gables with small-paned casement windows and a tall wood mullioned and transomed stair window on the inner face.
