Description
9 Fairy Road is a two-storey building constructed from brick, rusticated stone, and roughcast render, topped with hipped slate roofs and terracotta ridge cresting. The building has a square plan, with the entrance located towards the rear of the side elevation. The entrance features a panelled door set within a segmental archway. Above the doorway, there is a 2-light brick mullioned window with shallow arched lights. To the right, an octagonal turret with a conical roof adds visual interest.
The front facade facing the street has a two-window range, with rusticated stone on the ground storey, which culminates in a moulded terracotta cornice. The upper storey is finished in roughcast render, accented by brick quoins and a terracotta cornice adorned with swag decoration along the frieze. On the ground floor, there are paired sash windows to the left and a single sash window to the right, all featuring segmental heads with keystones and hood moulds, along with small upper lights.
A brick and terracotta bay window projects at an angle to the right, showcasing round-arched mullioned lights and a heavy terracotta cornice. The first floor includes two oriel windows, with the smaller left-hand window topped by a pediment over the main light. A heavily corbelled turret wraps around the left-hand angle at first floor level, topped with a bell cast conical roof. Additionally, there is a pedimented dormer window in the roof and two axial stacks.
