Description
Higher Barns Lodge is a 1½-storey cottage constructed of brick with a slate roof featuring overhanging eaves and a dentil verge. The openings of the cottage mostly have stone lintels, and the windows are small-pane wood-framed casements. The original entrance is located in the northeast gable end, which includes a faceted boarded door to the left, inscribed with 'JBC 1875' on the lintel. To the right of the entrance is a 2-light casement window, along with another in the attic. The left side wall, which faces the road, has two 3-light casements, while the right side wall features two small segmental-headed windows. At the rear, there is a boarded door and a 2-light casement window to the left, situated below a 2-light attic window. The property has not been inspected.
