Description
Nos.1-3 Wrexham Road Two-storey row with five first floor windows; outshut rears (later rear extensions). Brick with slate roofs. Five rectangular brick chimneys. Nos 1 and 2 are each single unit cottages with doorway to the R and windows aligned on each floor. Steep 2-centred arches to doorways which have boarded doors; windows with round-arched heads, enclosing casement glazing with 2 Gothic lights. No 3, The Old Smithy, consists of 2 sections, to L, a cottage as Nos 1 and 2, and to R, a 2-window section with first floor windows and doorway as before. The boarded door has impressions from branding irons including “PEEL” for owners of Bryn-y-Pys. To its R, a window with 3 Gothic lights. Right return has, at first floor level, one window as front, and a small 2-light Gothic window; on ground floor, broad segmental archway enclosing Gothic doorway to R, and 2-light Gothic window to L. The group is set back from road behind narrow forecourts with iron railings and gates.
