Description
No 18, Oakmount is a flat-roofed house designed in the Modern Movement style, featuring an irregular plan and curved bays. The building stands two to three storeys high and includes an enclosed rooftop solarium. It has a smooth cement-render exterior with an exposed brick plinth and chimney detailing. The original windows are Crittall-type metal.
The front elevation facing the road has an asymmetrical entrance with the original door flanked by two windows. Above the entrance is a simple shaped canopy, and on the first floor, there is a tall window. To the right, there is one window on the upper floor and two windows on the ground floor. The third storey is set back and connects to the solarium, which may have originally been open but is now glazed.
The garden elevation features a prominently projecting two-storey curved bay with Crittall-style metal French windows. To the left, there is an attached lower range that includes garage doors and a window above. The interior was not accessible during the inspection in January 1996.
