Description
Cooksbridge Farmhouse is a two-storey farmhouse constructed with a timber frame and brick, rendered with grey grit. It features new hardwood windows throughout and has a pitched slate roof. The building is designed in an H-plan with gabled cross wings, and a further cross-wing was added to the southern end in the 19th century, along with an extension to the northern cross wing.
The original layout of the farmhouse remains largely intact and includes some original features, such as a close string staircase with Jacobean splat balusters and a square newel post. Recent internal work has revealed and left exposed the timber box-framing, along with bevelled floor beams. To the east, there is a room with curved tie-beams on the second storey.
