Description

Bangor Bridge is a Grade I listed structure located partly in the Sesswick community. The bridge features arches primarily made of red sandstone, with sections of coursed rubble and areas of more finely dressed stone. It has a cambered design with unequal elliptical stepped arches, and full height splayed cutwaters that include refuges at the top. The parapet consists of large dressed slabs, and the cutwaters are mainly constructed from yellow sandstone.
