Description
Lower Lodge is a castellated, two-storey building with three windows, featuring a symmetrical front. The main elevations are constructed from coursed, pecked stone and include a string course between the storeys, topped with a crenellated parapet. The hipped slate roof is mostly hidden behind the parapet and has a stone ridge stack with three diagonal shafts and crenellated caps.
The front showcases a castellated porch with a Tudor arch and a hood mould, flanked by small-pane windows in the side walls. Inside, the door also features a similar arch and has fielded panels. The front elevation includes two-light mullioned windows with hood moulds and Tudor-Gothic glazing. Above the central upper-storey window is a heraldic tablet. The left side wall has a window in the lower right that mirrors the style of those at the front. The rear, which has two windows, is made of rubble stone and features a plain parapet. The windows here have wedge lintels and are larger in the upper storey, all being two-light with mullions, transoms, and pointed lights; the lower right window is now within a single-storey flat-roofed projection.
On the south side of the lodge, stone gate piers from the former drive remain.
