Description
Nerquis Hall Monument is a 18th-century Baroque funerary monument located in the churchyard immediately to the west of the tower. This monument is made of white marble and marks the site of the Nerquis Hall vault. It features a stepped plinth supporting an altar-tomb with an elongated cruciform shape, complete with a moulded base and cornice. The monument includes in-set memorial plaques, the earliest of which belong to the Hydes of Nerquis, dating from 1737 and 1749. Atop the tomb sits an urn-like sarcophagus that has pronounced gadrooning and rests on a moulded base. The two principal sides display elaborate heraldic cartouches, and the shaped lid is topped with a ball finial.
