Description
The sundial in St Mary's Churchyard is a mid-18th century sandstone structure featuring a contemporary sundial. It has a baluster base that sits on a flat, circular plinth. There are later iron reinforcing bands on the simply moulded necking. At the top, there is an octagonal brass sundial set into a moulded circular table, which is mounted on the base. This sundial was made by Lewis Thomas of Chester in 1768.
