Description
The adjoining farm buildings to the east of Trefrwd Farm consist of an early 19th-century T-shaped farmhouse with attached agricultural ranges that are contemporary or nearly contemporary, along with later 19th-century additions. The buildings are constructed of rubble and feature a medium-pitched slate roof. There is a plain brick off-centre stack. The two inter-connecting ranges form a rough T shape, appearing as an L when viewed from the farmyard, with the west range continuing as a gabled projection to the rear. The main entrance is located in the northern section, designed with a lobby-entry plan. It features a Victorian part-glazed door with a cambered head, flanked by modern windows with cambered heads, the left window being larger. Additional modern windows under the eaves are near-flush and of the sliding casement type.
The west range, positioned at right angles to the farmhouse, has another entrance similar to the main one, accompanied by a window to the right, both sharing a wide cambered head. There is also a sliding casement window under the eaves to the right.
To the south, there is a contemporary barn that is stepped up from the farmhouse. It is built of rubble and slate, featuring a single tier of ventilation slits. The barn has a raised off-centre entrance with a cambered head and a stable door, along with another stable door to the left at ground level, which has been rebuilt in brick above. A modern single-storey breeze-block lean-to is attached to the front of the barn.
At right angles to the barn and stepped down is a second quarter 19th-century stable range, constructed similarly. It has a central entrance on the north-facing side, flanked by windows, with another window under the eaves to the right. There is a loading bay at the coped east gable.
To the east of the farmhouse and stepped down is a second quarter 19th-century two-storey agricultural range, also built of rubble. On the left, there is an entrance with a loading bay above and flanking windows, the left window being shuttered and featuring ventilation slits. All windows have cambered heads, and the ground floor entrance is made of brick. To the right, there is a 20th-century cart entrance with boarded doors and a flat lintel.
