Description

The building is an early 19th-century T-shaped farmhouse located on the north side of a lane that runs east-west, leading off the lower end of Ffordd Nercwys. It is set within its own farmyard, which is enclosed by curved rubble dwarf walls. The farmhouse features attached agricultural ranges that are contemporary or near-contemporary, with some additions from the late 19th century.

Constructed from rubble, the farmhouse has a medium-pitched slate roof and a plain brick stack that is off-centre. The two inter-connecting ranges form a rough T shape, appearing as an L when viewed from the farmyard, with the west range extending as a gabled projection to the rear. The main entrance is located on the north section of the building, featuring a lobby-entry plan. The entrance has a cambered head and a slightly recessed Victorian part-glazed door, flanked by modern windows with cambered heads, the left window being larger. Additional modern windows are located under the eaves, near-flush and of the sliding casement type.

The west range, which is at right angles to the main section, has another entrance similar to the main one, accompanied by a window to the right, both sharing a wide cambered head. There is also a sliding casement window under the eaves to the right.

To the south of the farmhouse is a contemporary barn that is stepped up. It is built of rubble and slate, featuring a single tier of ventilation slits. The barn has a raised off-centre entrance with a cambered head and a stable door, along with another stable door to the left at ground level, which has been rebuilt in brick above. A modern single-storey breeze-block lean-to is attached to the front of the barn.

At right angles to the barn and stepped down is a second quarter 19th-century stable range, constructed in the same style. This range has a central entrance on the north-facing side, flanked by windows similar to those on the farmhouse, with an additional window under the eaves to the right. There is a loading bay at the coped east gable.

Adjacent to the farmhouse on the east and stepped down is a second quarter 19th-century two-storey agricultural range, also built of rubble and slate. To the left, there is an entrance with a loading bay above and flanking windows, one of which is shuttered and has ventilation slits. All these openings have cambered heads, with the ground floor entrance made of brick. To the right, there is a 20th-century cart entrance with boarded doors and a flat lintel.
