Description

The Swan Public House is a two-storey building with a slate roof and rusticated quoins. It features a three-window range with a central entrance lobby. The doorway is highlighted by a geometric traceried overlight set within a steep pediment, forming the focal point of the public house's façade. On either side of the entrance, there are wide, strongly projecting canted bay windows with mullions and transoms. The first floor includes a 12-pane sash window above the entrance, flanked by wide tripartite sashes with small panes. There is a plain sill band beneath the first-floor windows, and a deep frieze band below the finely detailed dentilled eaves cornice, which bears the raised lettering 'Wilderspool Ales'.
