Description
The Lamport Swan Public House and Swan Farmhouse is a late 18th-century building located on Harborough Road in Lamport. Constructed from lias ashlar with a slate roof, it features a double-depth plan and stands three storeys high. The façade includes a three-window range of sash windows with flat arch heads. At the ground floor, there are two 19th-century canted stone bay windows, one on the left and one on the right. The building has a large hipped roof with brick and stone stacks at the ridge. The left elevation mirrors the main façade and includes a central six-panelled door leading to the Swan Farmhouse. The public house has a 20th-century entrance on the right elevation. It is reputed that this building was originally constructed as an inn in the late 18th century, following the development of a new road.
