Description
Swan Lodge is a lodge built around 1849, likely designed by J.G. Bland. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and features a fishscale pattern slate roof. The building has a two-unit plan with a cross wing on the left side. It is a single-storey structure with a two-window range that includes two- and three-light stone mullions, complete with dripstones and gables above. The gable parapets and kneelers are also made of ashlar, and there is an ashlar stack at the ridge. On the gable of the cross wing, there is an inscription that reads, "In things transitory resteth no glory," accompanied by a heraldic shield, a swan, and a Latin inscription above. To the left, there is a stone porch with a 19th-century door. Swan Lodge serves as the lodge for Lamport Hall, which is located approximately 5 meters west of the lodge, along with its gate and gatepiers.
