Description

The Dovecote is a building that has been converted into a house, with a datestone indicating it was originally built in 1735, although this may have been reset. The structure is made of brick and features a slate roof. It was originally designed as a single-unit plan and stands two storeys high, with a two-window range that includes narrow casements with diamond panes and flat brick arches. The central door, which dates from the 19th century, is ribbed and has a four-centred brick arch above it.

In the gable between the windows, there are nesting boxes, and above them is the datestone along with an inscription that reads, "Where once did pigeons sport and fly you now may bake a pigeon pie." The roof is gabled and has gables on all four sides, likely added in the 19th century. There are brick stacks located at the ridge and at the ends of the building. To the right, there is a 19th-century one-room extension that features a projecting two-storey porch. The building was converted from a dovecote to a bakehouse during the 19th century.
