Description
The cartsheds at Derwen Hall are a five-bay structure built from local slatey stonework, featuring limestone piers and quoins at the front. The roof is made of slate, gabled on the left side and hipped on the right, with a tile ridge and hips. Each cart opening is topped with a large timber lintel, and there is a square loft aperture located centrally above each opening. The end elevations are plain, while the rear elevation includes a centrally placed loft doorway with a flight of stone steps leading up to a landing supported by brickwork. There is also a small loft window to the right on the rear elevation.
Inside, the north bay is fully partitioned by a stone cross wall, which includes a door at loft level. The other four bays are separated by king-post trusses, but the upper floor is no longer complete.
