Description
32 Church Street is an early 19th-century building, dating to the late Georgian period, consisting of three storeys and a basement, with a roughcast facade and slate roofs. The building is arranged as a group of three properties, each originally having a single window. Number 28 features applied decorative details, including reeded pilasters, cill bands, and 'S'-shaped brace plates. It also has bracket eaves and cills, and architraves that are shouldered at the first and ground floors, topped with keystones. Modern, small-pane windows are present throughout Number 28, except in the basement. Numbers 30 and 32 have camber-headed windows; those in Number 30 are modern on the first and second floors, while the others are small-pane sash windows. Plain basement windows are present across all three properties. Numbers 28 and 30 have six-panel doors, while Number 32 has a modern glazed door. All retain Georgian doorcases, arched entries, cornices, and reeded pilasters, with Gothick fanlights above the entrances of Numbers 28 and 30.
