Description

This is an early 17th century timber framed house, originally with a two-window square front. It is a single storey building with an attic, with a slate roof, overhanging eaves, and gabled dormers. A modern top-hung casement window and a half-glazed door with a pitched hood are on the left side; evidence suggests the original entrance may have been nearer the right end, where there is a former shouldered opening. The building stands on a high rubble base. A massive stone chimney breast is on the left, with a square panelled gable that has been partly cut down and has a red brick chimney stack added. A kitchen lean-to extends from the rear.

Inside, the square panelled timber frame is visible at the front and rear, and the remains of a studded partition exist between the main rooms. The original roof structure is preserved, including tie beams and purlins.
