Description
Ty Craig Canal Bridge is a rubble single elliptical arch bridge that spans approximately 5.2 meters. It features ashlar dressings, which are typical of Thomas Telford's design, and the arch springs from native rock. The bridge has flush voussoirs and a parapet that curves back at either end, with ramps leading down to the towpath at the south end, terminating in slight pilasters topped with pyramidal caps. The abutments are slightly battered at the base. The low stone parapets have flush slab copings and were originally splayed at both ends, although the south end has been altered.
