Description

Plas-is-llan West Agricultural Range is a large multi-purpose building consisting of four units. The two northern units include a threshing floor and an adjacent storage area, while the two southern units contain a stable and a cartshed with a loft. The building features Flemish-bond red brickwork that matches the nearby house and is topped with slate roofs. Slit ventilators are present on all sides.

Each side of the second unit from the north end has large doorways for the threshing floor, and there are similar doors in the fourth bay for the cartshed. On the east side, facing the yard, there is a stable door and window, along with an external staircase; above this, there is a loft door and window. The former two-light windows above the two great doors facing east are surrounded by stone but have lost their central mullions and are now filled with plain brickwork. All other door and window openings feature deeply cambered brick arches.

Adjacent to the west side of the range, a large modern farmyard shelter has been constructed, and there is a covered link to the house. Brick cross-walls define the units, with the wall between the northern and second units incorporating an arch. The third unit contains three stables that are complete with mangers.
