Description
14A Water Street is a Grade II listed building featuring a rendered exterior with a slate roof, coped gables, and both end wall and axial stacks. The building has a three-window range facing Water Street and a lower wing with three windows on Bedford Street. The shop front is set forward from the ground floor, supported by fluted cast iron columns on either side of central paired doorways, with canted oriel sash windows positioned above the entrance. Rectangular bay shop windows are located on either side of the doorways, with the left-hand window retaining early 20th-century leaded upper lights. The right-hand unit has smaller windows and a corner entrance. Above the entrance, there are 12-pane sash windows flanking a central oriel window, all set within shaped plaster architraves. The fascia is highlighted by heavy fluted console brackets and extends across the gable and rear wing on the Bedford Street elevation, which features another shop front in a similar style. Above this, there are 12-pane sash windows and a blind central window.
