Description
Marine Villa is a two-storey building from the 19th century, raised over a high basement. It features lined-out render and a hipped slate roof with terracotta ridge cresting. The street-facing side has paired gables and a side entrance in a small porch accessed by steps. The basement and high ground floor have canted bay windows, each with 12-pane sash windows divided by fluted columns, and dentilled cornices above the bays. Above, there are twelve-pane sash windows set in architraves with entablature hoods. The gable apexes include round-arched windows, while the gables are adorned with ornate fretted barge-boards and moulded brackets at the eaves. The southwest elevation has a hipped-roof porch with shaped cast-iron balusters on the handrail, and there are two axial stacks made of yellow brick with blue and red-brick dressings, topped with terracotta crown pots.
