Description

Beech House, a large detached town house, dates from the 19th century and serves as a doctor's surgery. It stands three storeys tall and is constructed of brick and rubble with a slate roof and plain rendered end chimneys. The symmetrical three-bay pebble-dashed facade features central 8-pane French windows with marginal glazing, topped by a moulded cornice supported by fluted colonnettes. On either side, there are canted wooden bays with plain sash windows and flat, parapetted roofs, also adorned with moulded cornices. The first floor has a similar marginally-glazed window in the central bay, while the other bays contain plain 4-pane sash windows, with plain sill bands on the upper floors.

On the left side, the return elevation facing Lon Copner includes an entrance with 4-panel moulded doors that have fielded upper panels, surrounded by five lights. There is a porch featuring a simple pediment supported by four paired metal posts, and above it, a 12-pane sash window.
