Description
The stables at Garthgynan are a 19th-century stable building with a symmetrical front. The structure begins with local limestone rubble at the base and transitions to brickwork in English Garden Wall bond at about 2 metres in height. It features a slate roof and a central doorway made of dressed limestone, topped with a flat arch that includes a keystone. On either side of the door, there are square windows with similar flat arches. Above the door, there is a datestone, and the loft openings above the windows are shuttered. The right half of the rear elevation has a brickwork lean-to with a synthetic slate roof.
Inside, the stables still have feeding racks against the rear wall and chutes leading from the hayloft. Originally designed with six stalls, the interior has been modified to include three loose boxes, along with a tack room at the back.
