Description
This is a two-bay box-framed agricultural building dating from an unspecified period, with an additional rubble bay attached to the west. The main section features original rubble lower walls on the north and south sides, as well as the west gable end, which rise to about 1 meter in height. The gable wall reaches wall-plate height. Above this, the timber-framed structure is mostly intact, though it is covered externally with corrugated iron, including the roof. The east gable is fully timber framed and retains much of its original horizontal weather-boarding on the exterior. Some similar weather-boarding can also be found on the south wall of the western bay, beneath the corrugated iron sheeting.
There are entrances on the north side (facing the farmyard) at the left, and in the center on the south side; the former retains the top section of an old boarded stable door, while the latter is boarded shut. The additional rubble bay has a slightly shallower roof pitch and features an entrance on the left side (facing the farmyard) with a pegged oak frame and a boarded stable door. Inside the primary section, there is a beaten earth floor and a central truss of tie-beam and raking-strut type, with the tie-beam showing signs of having previously supported a partition. A queen post truss is located at the rear gable, separating the primary section from the additional bay. The framing displays prominent construction marks.
