Description
This is a cartshed and granary, likely dating from the 18th century, built against a slope so that the left gable is higher than the right. It is constructed of squared rubble stone with a slate roof. The ground floor has three wide cart entrances, each covered by a massive timber lintel supported by square stone piers, with the openings set to the left. The first floor, used as a loft, has three large square windows under the eaves, each with slate sills. Some older stonework is incorporated into the left end wall. Outside stone steps lead to a loft door on the right end of the building, and there are two windows at the rear of the loft. The loft space itself has a long roof supported by a single truss. A pencil inscription revealed beneath the slates reads 'OWn Slater Ruthin 1888', indicating the work of a slater from Ruthin in that year.
