Description

This is an early 19th century farmhouse, built of rubble and slate, and originally rendered in lime. It’s a small, two-story building with squat, rendered chimneys and brick gable parapets added in the early 20th century. The front of the house has two windows, with a centrally placed entrance. The entrance has a brick arch over the top and an old boarded door within a chamfered, pegged frame. Ground-floor windows have brick arches, and those on the upper floor are set under the eaves. Most of the windows retain their original 24-pane sliding sashes in pegged frames; the window on the ground floor to the right has a later 19th-century 12-pane fixed window. The rear elevation features a raised entrance with an original boarded door and a chamfered, pegged frame, topped by an exposed timber lintel. To the left of this is a two-light mullioned wooden window with boarded internal shutters and a cambered head, and above it is a 24-pane sliding sash. The left gable has a rough-cast render applied in the 20th century, while the right gable features a projection for a large oven, with a slated lean-to roof.

The original interiors are plain and retain slate-flagged floors, pegged doorcases, and simple limed ceiling joists.
