Description
The railed Foulkes chest-tomb is located in the churchyard of St Michael's Church. It is a raised slatestone tomb dedicated to John Ffoulkes of Peniarth Fawr, who died in 1846, and his wife Margaret, who died in 1875. The tomb is enclosed by a railed area featuring cast iron railings with fleur-de-lis heads and urn finials. It has a moulded base and cornice, with raised and fielded panelled sides, and gadrooned, tapering pilasters designed in the Jacobean style. The top of the tomb is inscribed with the names and dates of the deceased.
