Description
Dolwen Lodge is a single-storey rectangular lodge with later extensions at the rear. It is built of whitened rubble and features a hipped slate roof with oversailing and dentilated eaves, along with squat red brick chimneys. The front is symmetrical with three bays, including a recessed central entrance section that is sheltered by a three-bay Doric portico supported by stone columns. The entrance consists of a part-glazed door flanked by 12-pane windows, while the outer bays each contain a two-part 24-pane casement window with a cambered head.
The later wing facing the road has a boarded door on the roadside, accompanied by a small window to the left and a 16-pane, two-part casement window to the right. The gable end features a plain chimney and a 20th-century four-pane window in an original opening, complete with a projecting sill. Additionally, there is a modern flat-roofed extension made of whitened brick that adjoins the rear of the lodge. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
