Description

Bryn Gosal is a two-storey house built in the late 17th century to early 18th century, with a fireplace bressumer dated 1817. The front elevation has been significantly modernised but still retains much of its original structure, which is why it is listed. The front features three bays, a slate gabled roof with flanking stacks, and stone walls covered in pebbledash. It has large modern wood-framed casement windows, with the upper ones having heads at eaves level, and a central doorway with a modern door. Inside, there is a fireplace with a dated wood bressumer hidden within the 9-foot-thick east wall. The interior also includes thick chamfered centre beams, one featuring run-out stops, and unchamfered joists. A rear lean-to was added around 1850, according to information from a previous occupant given in the 1930s.
