Description
Wern Goch is a two-storey house with pebble-dashed walls and a slate roof, featuring pebble-dashed stacks to the left of the center, at the left end, and an external stack on the right gable end. The openings have thin, smooth-rendered surrounds painted black, with segmental heads on the ground floor and extending to the eaves on the first floor. The house consists of two units, with the left unit being single-fronted and the right unit having three windows. The larger right unit includes a central timber-framed gabled porch with wavy posts on the sides and a panel door. The windows are 12-pane hornless sashes, except for a round-headed fixed small-pane window added above the entrance. The left unit features a boarded door and 12-pane horned sash windows on the left side.
On the left gable end, there is a small-pane window on the first floor. An added lean-to is present against the right gable end. At the rear, there is a wing and farm ranges. The main lofted section is made of whitened brick with a slate roof and includes brick and stone lean-tos and an outshut facing the farmyard of Wern Wen. At the end of this section is a lower whitened stone projection with a granary door in the gable end. Although not inspected, the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales recorded a stop-chamfered fireplace beam.
