Description
The four chest tombs at the Church of St Jerome are made of limestone and are arranged in a line, approximately 1 meter from the south wall of the church. From the east, the tombs are described as follows:
a. This tomb features inward sloping sides and a hipped capstone, which is enclosed in iron railings. It has urns on the corner stanchions and is dedicated to John Lloyd of Glynnannau, who died in 1823.
b. The second tomb has a moulded ledger with plain bead-edged end blocks. Between these blocks is a panel inscribed to David Lloyd of Hafod-y-maidd, a gentleman who died in 1811. The ledger also bears an inscription.
c. The third tomb has a simply moulded ledger with side panels situated between end blocks that are chamfered and stopped on the outer edges. It is dedicated to William Lloyd of Hendryrddwy-faen, who died in 1817.
d. The fourth tomb features a grooved and slightly hipped capstone. Its end blocks have cusped panels, and the sides are adorned with raised panels that have incurved corners. The inscription on this tomb is now illegible.
