Description
The Howard Hotel, located at 16 Gloddaeth Crescent, is a building that closely resembles Nos 1 and 2 at the opposite end of the crescent. It features a hipped slate roof with three gabled dormers. The elevations are stuccoed and include an eaves cornice adorned with dentils and paired modillions, as well as quoins.
On the third floor, there are eight small segmental-headed windows, each with small flanking columns and a stringcourse at the cill level. The window heads on the second and first floors are decorated with toothing. The second floor has a central two-light window with sash glazing, flanked by similar three-light windows. The first floor features a storeyed bow window at each end bay that descends to basement level. The central first floor sash window is a "Venetian" style, with a round-headed centre light flanked by narrow blind side lights and a shallow segmental pediment above the centre light.
There is balustrading across the front at the first floor level, and steps flanked by a balustrade with turned balusters lead up to a glazed stuccoed portico before the doorway. A similar balustrade is present on the stuccoed forecourt wall, which has piers flanking the entrance.
